First Aid & CPR Training

CPR training at Audubon Middle School sponsored by Bessie Morris Foundation

On April 17-18, 2024, the Bessie Morris Foundation sponsored CPR and first aid training for 31 students at Audubon Middle School in Los Angeles. The training was facilitated by Linda Radell of Onsite CPR Training Company. We are proud to announce that the training was a great success.

The students learned lifesaving skills such as calling 9-1-1 for help, performing chest compressions and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). They also learned to recognize different emergency situations and skills needed to save the life of a person who is experiencing choking, external bleeding, a seizure, hypoglycemia (diabetes/low blood sugar) and puncture injuries.

Additionally, each participant was given a resource guide on first aid with more information and techniques to guide them through life-saving skills. All the students earned a CPR and first aid training certificate. We would like to congratulate them on a job well done!

Ivory Freeman, the Foundation CEO, worked with the staff of Audubon Middle School and thanks them for their support. A special thank you goes out to Deanna Hardemion, Principal, and Princess Aryee, Assistant Principal. We look forward to collaborating with you and your students again.
