Tania Johns' Reflections on her Prom

The Bessie Morris Foundation caught up with Tania Johns, a 2018 Prom Dream winner and graduate of Carson High School.

Tania Johns was attending Carson High School and living with her grandmother when she applied for the Bessie Morris Foundation Prom Dreams. She was elated when she was selected as a 2018 winner so she could attend the prom.

While shopping to select her dress, Tania was having a hard time finding a dress that suited her. Nothing seemed to be both her size and style. She was just about ready to give us, but voila! Just look at her photo to see what a gorgeous and flattering dress she found. Perseverance pays off!

"The prom was great. I had a blast and it will definitely be a night to remember," says Tania.

"I want to thank the Bessie Morris Foundation and Ms. Ivory for everything, and especially for making my prom dream come true. If I wasn’t picked as a winner, I wouldn’t have gone to prom. I would have missed out on one of the best times of my life."

In spring 2019, Tania begins her cosmetology training at Compton Community College. "I can’t wait until I start because cosmetology is what I’ve always wanted to do," closed Tania.

Best wishes to Tania!
