Bessie Morris Foundation Book Fair program

Book Fair

The Book Fair program was created to engage young Los Angeles Unified School District students in the joys of reading. Additionally, we want to inspire them to reach their potential through storytelling.

Through the use of books, we want to cultivate a fun and exciting learning environment for elementary school students. It is our goal to offer resources and the necessary tools for reading and writing with our quarterly newsletter.

The first Book Fair was held for 3rd Graders at 118th Elementary School in Los Angeles on October 15, 2021. Participating students received a goodie bag from the LA County Library and a copy of Unstoppable Me by Dr. Wayne Dyer and Kristina Tracy, 2014 Prom Dream alumna Gloria Araya read the book aloud to the children's enjoyment.
